1. The first trip should only be for about 1 month. This will allow you to work out the kinks in "long term travel".
2 Second trip do the 3 months -- stay a week or two at each campground. You will have solved the problem you found in the first trip and DW can find a number of new RV friends.
I have a friend that each year goes to the same place in FL for the 6 months winter. Parks at the same spot and has the same "winter" friends. The the same "Summer home friends" and a different group of Winter friends. Not for me. I want to see new each week. I do "bump" into some of my RV friends at different NP or COE campgrounds.
My DW died of cancer before I went full time. If she was alive we would only be 50-75% ers. She would need a stick home home base to go back to if either of us could not travel any more.
