Ralph, you might want to stay off the over-priced turnpike, you would be a sitting duck for the inspection collection police. The cop told me that he can be busy all day long completing the pre-printed tickets. They need to pay the big pensions somehow. ;)
I too, had an idiot bring out the largest floor jack that I have ever seen. It was so wide that when next to the tire the contact point was near the axle center. I left with the inspection incomplete. I mentioned it here some time ago and as usual was chastised by the experts for complaining.
I have had some luck with finding stations that will accept my brake photos on my cellphone, and currently do it that way. Yes, I know that it takes a sensible guy to play along. :C
Now look what you have done LOL. I drive that overpriced goat trail almost daily from 75 to 28 and back. Over-priced is not the exact term I would use.
Here on the western side it's easy to see why it's overpriced if you look at the upgrade program. You have the route 66 extension from near exit 75 going North to US22 and the 43 addition from the south hills of Pittsburgh to the WV line above Morgantown. Drive those two and you most likely will only see a few other cars. On the mainline as they widen to 3 lanes in sections they build 20' high concrete screen walls for miles that are not required. If you were dumb enough to build or buy a house next to the turnpike, you should not get a screen wall thats costs millions at the expense of the public that has no choice but to use that rag of a road. Add to that in the original turnpike charter it was supposed to revert to a free road once it paid for itself and I believe it did so in the late 60s or early 70s. That didn't happen.
May will be two years since the sticker on the Rockwood expired. At around $70 a pop for that inspection, that's $140 I have not dropped.
They can pull me over and cite me for $105. I'm rolling the dice lol.
