Most of the NY EZ-Passes are on the windshield. A few years back there were car manufacturers that made an optional heated windshield. They had a gold tint to them and would block the EZ-Pass signal (like the storage bags.) Those drivers had to get bumper or licence plate transponders.
Some states count the number of axles. NY does not. Hence I have two EZ-Pass transponders - a white one for solo and a blue one for towing the TT.
