EZ pass with class c

Hi. I have a class B with an overhang like a C. I stuck my EZ Pass as well as my Texas pass lower on the windshield, but not where the wipers would block the view. Just a little on the passenger side of center. We spent 6 weeks in New England (and Canada) with no problems. The North Texas pass, which also works in Oklahoma, has never been a problem for the 17 years we have owned our camper van.
If that does not work, I think they have one that attaches to the front license plate.

Generally the base of the windshield will work fine (and the top probably would too). The base of your windshield is about the same height as the top of some car windshields, after all.

I hope you at least considered enrolling in New York's motorhome plan for EZ-Pass. On the thruway, with that plan (which doesn't cost extra to be in), you pay car rates based on the number of axles rather than motorhome rates. For a two-axle motorhome with no towed vehicle, that works out to saving just about half on the tolls.

Here in NY you can request a tag that attaches to your front license plate.

If you have a window at the front of your cap, would it not make sense to put it there or is that too high?

Not really. If you go through a toll both instead of the pass through and the transponder don't register, the toll booth person will want the transponder so they can maualy scan it.

Could you imagine climbing in your RV at the toll booth to retreive it with a line of irritated vehicles behind you.... I can't.

In a class C? Stand up next to the dog house, reach up, detach velcro. At least that's what it would be with my class C. I might have to stand on tippy-toes, or maybe even clamber up the couch or dinette seat a bit, but it would still be a matter of a few seconds.

Many class C's don't have a front window in the cabover these days, which is good for avoiding leaks but not quite so exciting for having a view from the bunk there (if there is a bunk and not, say, an entertainment center).

Thanks to all. Will try a collector's lane with it on the lower part and see what happens. worst case will get a printed ticket. It is already on a Rv membership.

I mounted mine in the center and at the bottom of the windshield of my class C. We haven't had a problem. The first use was on the Garden State Pkwy. I went through the manned cash/ez-pass lane. I stopped a little short and yelled to the attendant that this was the first use. He understood my concern. As I started through he waved me on. I had some money in hand if it didn't. This procedure was posted here. good idea as usual. The idea of a front license plate mount is pretty good..

Just put it in the upper center of the wind shield like you would do in your car, it will work just fine. When I returned an EZEE PASS that I did not need I just mailed it back and I was charged for the toll as the mail truck delivered it via the NJ Turnpike. If you have one in your toad and you put it in your glove box without wrapping it in foil you will be charged a toll for it.

They use RFID, and the head units in the EXPass lanes broadcast out a strong signal to excite the RFID chip which then responds back. As long as that block can see out, it will have no problem responding. They don't need to be directly under the overhead bar where the head units are on the tollway to respond, so the overhang shouldn't block them.
