My boss and a mutual friend of ours bought brand new 2015 F250s the same week. My boss bought a 4x4 Crew Cab King Ranch with the 6.7 diesel. Our friend bought a 4x4 Crew Cab XLT with the Gasser. Both beds are the same length and from first glance they are the same trucks except the paint scheme and wheels. So, naturally I wanted to look at the payload stickers on both.
Now I can't remember down to the exact poundage for both but I was shocked at the huge gap between the two.
The XLT Gasser was in the 2900lb block
The King Ranch Diesel was in the high 1800lb block.
1100lb difference due to trim and powerplant, wow.
When comparing identically equipt trucks, hey are the same part numbers in every dept. comparing apples to oranges doesn't help here.
I think I have a feeling which one you would choose to pull the OP's friends FW.
