I have one of each. Ford IBC and prodigy P2 in Nissan. They both work. The Ford IBC is "smoother". But I would not say that defines it as better. Personally, I prefer the P2 in the Nissan, because I have more options and control over how it works. But then..... I'm a DIY kinda guy.....( which is why the Nissan has a manual transmission..... ).
You'll probably be happy with either, because both will apply the trailer brakes.
Also, the Ford IBC seems to be very sensitive to having totally perfect electrical connections. If anything get slightly flaky, it will error out. The Prodigy seems more forgiving.
