Fall Workamping Ideas

I have accepted a workamper position for May-September in Montana and would like to investigate opportunities in the general area for the October-November season. Appreciate all suggestions.
  • Mike, Lee is a native Montanan and I lived there for 18 years. That said, we know the state inside and out. We moved to Texas in 2000 because we couldn't face another winter.

While it is nice in the summer (July and August), the rest of the year can be brutal. Sidney is one of the coldest places in East Texas, where we lived. I can't imagine working the sugar beet season driving a truck in the cold. Lowest temps we experienced were minus 55 and that was not the wind chill temp. I would get out by September and go South or West. Christine, Holly Lake Ranch, TX
  • Thanks so much for the replies. Workamper positions similar to the Sugar Beet harvest is what I'm searching for.
  • Consider coming to the coast. Oregon state parks have many many parks and hosting (volunteer) opportunities. And the weather will be better here than MT in October
  • Montana is a big place, it would help to know where in the state you're thinking about.
