Well, I suppose you could always pitch a tent to keep it REAL simple!
My previous TT had the manual older style awning. I liked for a lot of reasons. The deflappers, the ability to drop it flat against the trailer to wash it. The ability to angle it, the ability to set the poles in the ground, like a real porch, or leave them on the side of the trailer. And the fact it was fixed tight.
My current camper has an electric awning. I've had the camper almost 3 years now, and I'm am NOW just learning how to really use it.
Actually, it's pretty simple. Each arm has a turn knob. If that is tight, the awning doesn't flop in the wind. Problem solved.... DUH! Took 3 years to figure that out! But, if it rains, those knobs have to be loose, so the awning will self tip if it collects water. Been doing it that way. Trade off is, it flopps when it's windy.
And, can't lower the new one to wash the top like I could with the old one.
