Fast food prices

On the road, we eat out more often. Last 6 mo I've noticed prices have really gone up. Just me or have you noticed this also?

Ah Capo beach. Beacon Atlantic Richfield closed up in early 70's. Then could get their Pastrami sandwich at their other store at Turners Corner. Could listen to new electronic device called 8 track. I miss some old things. :)
  • If prices are going up, it doesn't seem to matter. All the fast food joints around us seem to be busy most of the time.

  • If prices keep going up, I'm going to stop tipping the Maitre d' at our local McDonald's.
  • Where are fast food employees getting $15/HR?

    The national average is $10/hr.

Maybe downtown San Francisco or Portland.

Around here they get $9.00.But I digress.

Arbys has a several perfectly edible sandwiches (We really like the Gyro) for $3.00.

WENDY’S Double stack ask for tomato and lettuce. Two for $5.18.

Trick is for fast food, dont get fries or drinks; they will nail you. They make much of their profit on drinks.

We took our 12 year old grandson with us last summer and I let him
get what he wanted and almost every drive thru, his cost as much as our two lunches together.

And some things are worth it; a Chic FilA Market Salad is $7 something but its as good as you get at Chilis.

The Combos are over priced and loaded with extra fat and calories.
  • Many fast food places are trying to provide better food, more higher cost options and thus the prices have to go up. Add in the idiocy of 16 year old burger flippers get $15 an hour in high school and again prices go up.
  • I honestly can’t tell you what I paid for a Whataburger or an 8 piece nugget Chick-fil-a meal last week let alone months ago. But we don’t eat fast food any more often when traveling than at home. And that is not a lot.
  • I don't know about past 6 months, but in the past 6-18 months fast food and casual dining around where I live has gone up !

I will say, we were pleasantly surprised when we ate Carino's the other day. Good food, good portion size (we both had leftovers), dinner salad for $1 I thought was reasonable (if you were sharing an entree, the second salad is $4). Better food and service than Olive Garden and maybe a couple of dollars more.

nope but it may be related to an increase in wages...$15 p/h! someone has to pay for that.
