Looked up on Amazon several led lanterns - some are foldable, 4 in 1 lanterns (4 individual units used separately or together), square, Energizer, Coleman .. want one which is at least 11 inches tall.Noticed some are solar, rechargeable, and others were D batteries.So decided to come over here and ask y'all which ones you have and which ones you prefer or would get next time ..

I always had memories of the old Coleman Red Lantern we had growing up as a kid, smell of that gas. So when I saw one of these at Costco we snapped it up, not LED but wish it was. It's been great. If I found an LED version that looked like this, I'd buy a second one.

Even older school here. Still using what went west in the wagons, a kerosene lantern. Not much light but it does not attract the bugs either. If anything it might repel them some. Have one of those explosive Coleman liquid gas lanterns too, complete with spare mantles. Don't use that one except during power outages at home.The new LEDs are nice I suppose. Too much light but love them in those strap on headlights. Light always where you need it.

I also have had the gas, propane and flourescent lanterns. I found this one and at 30 hr runtime on 4-D size batteries. It is very bright and can hang many different ways. Clicky

It doesn't share the same looks but this lantern looks interesting, especially the fact that each of the four lights is detachable if need be.

I have a couple like that but smaller. They are real nice for hanging in a tent or using on a picnic table.

We use the LED headband lights.
from Costco there are 3 on a card for $ 10 .
The light is always where you need it .
We still use the 4 D cell coleman incandescant on the picnic table .
We only carry the propane bottle Coleman in the shoulder season .
We use that for a heat source as we are turning in on cold nights .

I have used one of these Coleman LED Lanterns for many years now. Great light for reading, too. I have a strip of Aluminum Foil on one side, to direct the light to the task I am using it for. Removing the Foil, it works just like a White Gas Lantern does. I was inexpensive and easy to charge as it comes with both a 12v Cig Lighter charger cord or one with a AC Charger/Transformer.

My absolute favorite. I was given this as a gift and have given many to others. This price is great so is product. Lantern and flashlight. Solar, stays charged for 8 -10 hours depending on setting.

I actually got one of the Brooklyn lanterns that used to be on the cable networks.Keep it in the camper.Not to bad.
