We installed the Torklift Glo Step These are still supported by the ground but they store completely outside, so no need to clean the steps. Second reason I like these is I don't have the room to deploy the Lippert or Morryde version when it is stored inside our barn. Very well built and a great company too. Another option to look at.

I also upgraded to the Glow steps. They have all the positives of the Mor Ryde with none of the negatives.
The positives are the steps are supported by the ground vs. just hanging off the trailer like traditional steps. Even the steps pictured
by Cummins12V98 are just hanging off the RV and are not supported by the ground.Steps that are not supported by the ground are subject to bounce and stability issues. The GSR and Mor Ryde steps are noticeably more stable because the have legs the extend to the ground.
The ground eliminates any bounce creating a very stable bounce free experience.
The cons of the Por Ryde steps are they act as a scoop to catch and flip debris into your RV when retracted. Some of the debris come off the soles of your feet while other debris is created from things just falling like leaves and pine cones. Breaking camp or using the steps in the rain also results in bringing water into the RV.
Next there are clearance issues between the door and the next RV simply because the steps do not fold and are essentially one straight piece.
Lastly the steps block the entire doorway. I often will set coolers are backpacks just inside the door before departure. With the MorRyde steps the door is blocked when the steps are retracted.
The idea of storing exterior steps inside the RV is bad from the start:S. The new Mor Ryde steps are not for me. They create more problems than they resolve.
