I've done that to lock my bicycles up. Never thought when we went riding and left the lock that a 4 page rv.net thread would be the result.
If it wasn't done to lock up other items... not sure why some find this so weird. When you haven't lived in someone else's shoes, might be hard to understand why they do the things they do.
