Final Flush/Dump

I have my outside shower connected directly to the tank flush. Use hot water to flush all the time.

OK Just got home (with a new crockpot) and did the Hot Water flush. Didn't see a whole lot of difference. Did pickup a 4' piced of hose and ran from the outside shower tot he tank flush. Found this a lot more convenient that running a seperate hose from a Y at the hose bib. Don't know if I'll try the hot again, unless it's already available, but do like the the shower hook up.

Don't underestimate the slide. Remember the crock pot. :W

It use to be common to use Pine Sol to clean the toilet prior to dumping. Did a great job, and left a nice scent. As time went on the slide would get harder and harder to pull and push. Turns out the lubricate got washed away. I learned that the hard way in my first snowbird year. Clicky

So hot water and grease cutting detergent might not be so good for the slide.

i think its enough to put the ice thing in the tank and dump.thats clean enough.i m sure i m rite. i have put a bottle of dawn in and dumped the suds out, wow works great for me next question. now its all happy-camping

I'm working with a 5'ver. The shower outlet and the tank flush are in the same compartment, about 6" from each other. I'm thinking a piece of hose scrap with repair ends mounted on it, just long enough not to kink. Slide seals and such should not even be a consideration.

I have used Cascade dish washer packets for that lemon fresh smell and it cuts grease. I have also used Calgon to make things slide a little better....

The only things I could think of is if the water was really hot it could wash away the slide grease or do damage to the rubber seal itself.

No house water available. Here's the plan. We will be spending Thanksging week at the beach. Before I leave I was going to do a good long cleaning and dump, then just as we leave, pour laundry detergent down the toilet and empty the hot water tank into the tank. We will be driving about 150 miles(half way home) and spending the night. I know the water will cool as I'm going down the road....but... While it's hot and soapy I thought it could work everything loose. Then when I get up the next morning and do the final dump/cleaning, it would flush everything out. I'd come home with a clean tank and sensors for the winter, and take it off to have it winterized. I can't see a down side. That usually means I'm overlooking something pretty obvious...

Why would the pressure in the tank flusher be less with hot water than cold? It that was the case why even have the tank flush option. But in any case I would not worry about going to that much trouble.

Never mind. I thought they meant using city water.
