I used to use the magnetic tow lights, but have switched to using the existing lights with diodes. It is so much more convenient and no risk of scratching the paint.
The only way to wire tow lights for the 2014 Cherokee is diodes. I'm not splicing into the cars electrical system no matter how safe others claim it to be. I don't need more electrical problems causing warranty issues. The wireless lights take about as much time to connect. The lights I purchased don't just have rubbed boots. They're sealed to the magnets. They weren't cheap, but built real nice.
I purchased the Rc 1 independent lights.
