This is an awesome thought, and I'll remember it for our next campout!! (I'm allergic to smoke)

We were once in a national forest campground in New Mexico over the Memorial holiday. On the last day most everyone cleared out. I took a walk around the campground and saw a small fire starting at a campsite. There were still burning logs in the firepit and it appeared sparks jumped out and caught the pine needles. I rushed to the campground host and he called it in on 911. We went back and started packing up. We were ready to leave when the fire trucks arrived and the fire had spread significantly over the pine forest floor. They evacuated the few remaining campers. I followed the fire on the news afterward and it had consumed many, many acres and the campground was closed down the rest of the summer.

Cigarettes are most likely to be blamed for some fires, especially along the roadsides but many major fires are started by careless campers.

When you leave your campsite, pour a bucket of water on your fire remains. If you can't put your hand in the ashes then your fire is not out. This is a common message given by the rangers.

IMO most wildfires are started by smokers throwing their cigarettes out of move vehicles.

True story: I have not only the android Fireplace but the Windows 10 as well.

Bought a young lady a new computer.. Set it up for her (A few hours setting up and updating Windows 10) and while we were setting it up she was talking about how much she wanted a fireplace....

Well.. installed the Fireplace App on her phone too.. Invoked it and set the now working finalized computuer beside her.

She heard the snap, crackel and pop, finally turned to see it, and her response was well worth the cost of the computer plus my time.

And it gets better.. Her cats like to curl up in front of the "Fireplace" too.

I think if you are going to camp in a spot that allows campfires you must expect some smoke in the air. Lots of choices for rv's to camp where there are no fires too. It's up to you not the neighbour with the fire.

Tell us how you can turn down the smoke on a fire....

Ah, the old familiar argument. And the riposte is that if I'm in a campground that allows music, I can play my music at the volume I wish even if it bothers my neighbors. I can play my thrash metal and it's up to you since there are lots of choices for rv's to camp with no music. :)

Just put a lava lamp in the center of the group....they can stare at it for hours.
