Size-wise, you should be looking for a "3A 40BC" extinguisher. They have approx 5 pounds of extinguishing agent in them. What it means is this - it would extinguish approximately 3 square feet of class A - "Ordinary Combustible" material - i.e. - wood, paper, seat cushion, etc., or about 40 square feet of flammable liquid (B) or electrical (C) fires. Make sure you get a marine-grade extinguisher holder for it, since you don't want to loose it rattling down the road. I carried one of these mounted to the running board of my pickup with TC for many years. It was within arms reach of my fuel fill - figured it was a likely place to have a fire risk, just behind the driver's door. The "usual" consumer brand is Kidde - nothing wrong with them - they (and the mounting brackets) are readily available at big-box stores. Every once in a while pop it out of the bracket and tip it back and forth. The dry powder in them tends to settle and cake from road vibration. If you don't feel it shifting around in the cylinder, I used to thump mine against the tire to loosen it up until it would move. ST
