We stay at a park about 60 miles north of San Antonio. This will be our 5th season there. It has gotten as low as 20 degrees a couple of times, but usually stays above freezing at night and 50's or 60's during the day. Close enough to San Antonio or Austin if we'd like to go (usually don't) and rural enough to make it feel homey. I'd recommend reservations, especially for any time after the first of the year. From what I've seen the parks can get pretty full. My site is reserved for the next five years! Both Austin and San Antonio have a major airport, though for my money, traveling around and through San Antonio is much easier than Austin. Hope this helps, and good luck with your choice.
