Fishing on the Road while staying in a RV (help)

I am an East Texas Bass Fisherman, looking to do some traveling with my new RV. But...since I won't have a boat with me, and don't plan on hiring a guide, I am somewhat limited as to where I can go. ...

If visiting southern states, I would want to know EXACTLY how far north alligators roam before I paddled my kayak near the weeds along the shore of a lake at dusk. It might absolutely be an adventure.
