before this thread even happened... I always wondered why there wasn't a secondary safety latch like the one being designed above. Not to steal your thunder, but I had the same idea in my head...just need a small spring on it. :W
You simply cannot engineer something for every possible event. If the latch would make you feel better by all means gin one up, but mine works just fine without it.
