I think a winch is required, for me anyway. LOL. ( though I don't have the hitch)
When I was doing RV transport, one of the guys I went to training with ended up getting the whole B&W setup. I looked at it. He said the companion hitch was heavy as &*@#^. I could tell it was heavier than that just looking at it.
