I could care less about Canada and its citizens as regards "their" desire to show their flag. THIS IS AMERICA, THE GREATEST COUNTRY ON THE FACE OF THE EARTH.

Many have give all and some most all to protect and serve this great country. Does that not mean nothing to some?

If you come to this country, the very least I would expect is that you honor the tradition of ours and flag our flag along with yours.

According to the U.S. Flag Code, "No person shall display the flag of the United Nations or any other national or international flag equal, above, or in position of superior prominence or honor to, or IN PLACE OF, the flag of the United States at any place within the United States or an territory or possession thereof."

Yes the flag means a heck of a lot to me, it was draped over my body when I returned on a stretcher from war. Either respect or expect to be disrespected by some of us who know the meaning of the U.S. FLAG.

The U.S. Flag Code establishes advisory rules and is not a U.S. law!

I my humble opinion the flag is used far to much for advertising and not enough for patriotism. Way to many people out there flying their Flags who don't know what patriotism is all about! Way to many people out there who want to get out of their required taxes. Way to many people out there who want to save bucks by buying foreign made tires. And regretfully I served and gave up many years of my life so that the citizens of this country can do those thing. But when there are no jobs left except the ones in China, don't blame me - Cause I already did my time so that you can do what your want! Be careful what you want from your country, you might just get it and not like it.

And Rockportrocket, remember it was our civil servants who were in harms way when the embassy in Iran was over ran and they were rescued by our friends from Canada. We should always be grateful for them coming to the aid our our embassy personnel when they were in harms way in a very unfriendly country!!!

I served in a sensitive covert position and was often embarrassed by the excessive false pride of many of my fellow Americans who served in the foreign country I was assigned in. They made us look bad and stupid. I have seen the "ugly American" and they give all proud Americans a bad name!
