I have not been over the border in many years, but my other half has some friends that travel that way quite often, and has been hinting to plan a trip with a few of them, and I would like to spend a winter down in Arizona or New Mexico, after I retire.
camping frequently along the north shore of Erie, and east shore of Huron, I do come across quite a few US campers, some have both flags out some have just the US flag, some have none, just the licence plate or an accent gives them away.
Most are friendly and look to start up conversation over a cold beer or glass of wine, some keep to themselves, I don't go knocking on doors but am always open to some friendly chat. I figure that if a person does not like us (up here) they would not come here.
I'm glad you came away from this encounter with a great attitude. Hope to see you camping sometime.
