flat towing 2010 Mini cooper

I'm new to Rving and I've learned so much already. Have a 2014 winnie Via on a Sprinter chassis, planning on towing my Mini went to Blue Ox web site and was overwhelmed by the selection of tow bars available (and that's just one manufacturer)

Can anyone help me narrow the field down on the tow bar. I'm sure I'll have other questions in the future, but I think I'll take a step at a time. I would like to put a balanced tow package together that reflects the MH and toad.

Thanks to everyone in advance.

  • I got our rv from a guy towing a mini. He bought and I now am using a falcon all terrain tow system. He also had a SMI brake system installed. When we bought the unit he gave us all that he had. The tow bar works well I did have to buy the base plate for our car and the SMI installs in the engine compartment and is virtually invisible. We had only 1 problem with it on our trip. The did not install a charge line when they installed the lighting kit, so it took a friend and I about 2 hrs to get it set up. Dont ever try to find anything in Van Horne Tx, just not a lot there to work with!

BTW he said he was told by the cooper folks NOT to tow his mini, but he did and I guess it worked out for him, he kept the car as a DD for the wife.
  • 2x on the Ready Brake. I've been happy with mine along with the Blue Ox tow plate on the CRV I tow.
  • get a tow bar that mounts on the rear of the motorhome and has levers to release it, not slip rings. my latest was a blue ox aventa II.

  • Welcome to the forum.

Consider ReadyBrake for the braking system on your toad.

This system seems to be simple and effective.
