they are the last word if you want some redress from the mfr. if you tow one and things go South. an example is a buy back or some such thing for one vehicle a few years back where the manual said it was towable, it wasn't and the buyers were compensated for their loss.
now you can ask remco for a cash settlement and get laughed at. and just because one tows for x miles and it doesn't blow up, it is possible that internal damage can/has occurred and it may fail at xxx miles instead of what is normal, never.

OP is asking about a car 4-6 years old; he aint getting any redress from Honda anyway.
He never asked if it would be covered under warranty. He just wants to know if it will blow up.
It seems to me that he does not own this unit yet and is considering buying one for use as a toad. Since there are units out there that are towable 4 down I think one is very foolish to not buy one but that of course is his choice. and a choice made on internet heresay is an iffy choice IMHO. and the owner's manual IS the best source of this information.
