Flat Towing

The OP is asking about a sedan and not an SUV like CRV, Equinox, Vue or my Jeep.

Chevy Equinox with AT but not the all wheel drive model.

Popular automatic toad that's also a decent vehicle is Honda CR-V. Just cannot be the very newest ones that have the Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT). The ones with the legacy automatic overdrive are flat towable, even in All Wheel Drive (AWD) configuration.

As gbopp says, confirm any "leads" in the owner's manual before you buy. you can get an idea in one of the non-official sources but see what little nuances there are in the owner's manual to be able to tow it. I would never buy a toad that required major changes to tow, such as tranny lube pump, or drive shaft disconnect. If you make one of those changes on a new car under warranty good luck on having transmission issues covered under your warranty.

The best info is in the owners manual of the vehicle. It will tell you if it can be dinghy towed and also give any restrictions for speed or distance.

If you are looking at possible toads, check Remco Industries Towing. Just fill in the information for the car that interests you.

There is also a Dinghy Towing Guide. I believe it's updated every year.

Check the towing capacity of your RV and make sure the toad is not too heavy.
