As a native Floridian, I've lived through 4 hurricanes. Donna came in 1960 when I was 10, so of course, I remember it as an adventure as we played cards into the morning and had good food to eat. Things were a mess for a few weeks afterward, but we made it through it.
We were in Charley, Frances, & Jeanne in 2004 and sustained no damage. Nor did my family, and we didn't lose power for any extended time. I certainly don't want to make light of it, as there were those who didn't fare as well, but you'll be fine. If you sustain any damage, it can be fixed. Just make sure you have the usual - batteries, flashlight, camp stove, jugs of water, fill the bathtub with water, canned goods-beenie weenies, soup, etc., charcoal for grilling, ice. And, fill up your car.
Will be thinking of you. Hang in there and ride it out.
