You can't react, till after it is over.
After Andrew, with no power, I had to use up what was in the freezer first, had a 12volt tv plugged in to my truck , eating surf and turf.
Don't forget, your water heater has 30 gals of good drinking water stashed in it.
I bet you'll be amazed how many of your neighbors you meet.
The rest is why we have insurance.
