I'm sure that the dump station has been abused at the Flying Js from time to time. But I have never seen any abuse first hand.
Pilots acquisition of the Flying J's caused a lot of change to what we were used to at the J's.
WHen you stop to think about it, Flying J sold out to Pilot because they were either not making any money or losing money. Pilot made some changes to make the operation profitable.
One of the things that adds a tiny trickle of money into the register is the now charge for the dump station. Selling a slightly smaller doughnut for the same money adds a bit more. Changing out the windshield wash water twice a day instead of 4 times a day...ya, get where i'm going? Its just doing business and showing a profit in todays economy. Makeing sure that every dime counts.
Management has to really get creative today to show a profit...years ago, Willie Lump Lump could manage and get by.
