- noe-placeExplorerThe president of the United States (Truman) said it best: The Buck Stops Here and he was in charge of everything.

Maybe the owner doesn't know everything, but you'd think he'd be aware of something this large. I mean they were giving classes on how to cheat the trucking companies without being caught. If he doesn't know what's going on why is he being paid the big bucks?
The governor of Tennessee is a co-owner of PFJ, should he have known too? Jimmy Haslam is not in charge of day to day operations at PFJ, he has a CEO and COO that are responsible for the various managers that deal with those specifics. As company president, his responsibilities would run more along the lines of long term corporate growth and direction. Keep in mind, PFJ is one of the largest privately held companies in the US. The 6th largest in fact, as of last year according to Forbes.
Where were these alleged "training sessions" held? The Atlanta, Fargo, North Platte, Cincinnati, Oklahoma City, Salt Lake City, or Knoxville corporate offices? PFJ is a huge operation. - Dutch_12078Explorer II

Pay cash and discounts are up front.
This was not about discounts at the pump, but rather about rebates extended to fleet operators based on usage. There is no way PFJ can pay the rebates up front or at the pump, since they have no way of knowing in advance what an operator's usage will be for a given period. - artguysExplorerPay cash and discounts are up front.

You know this has no affect on RV owners at all. This whole suit was by large fleet truck companies and PFJ. As an RV owner, I always get my GS discount when I use my RV Plus card at the pump. I believe these large companies had contracted for certain discounts for their fleets and through various means they were overcharged. Many PFJ people lost their jobs over this (the ones that were making the bad deals or cheating on the contracts)but it also does not affect the little guy employees.
IMO the whole thing is blown way out of proportion for the RV owner.
So you would willing do business with a company that is known to cheat on some of it's customers. Chris
Without hesitation. Screwing customers was not company policy, and when it was time to for accountability, they did the right thing. What more are they to do? - Me_AgainExplorer III
