OP here. I just went to measure the tube holding my sewer line. Ladder will fit ok, however the spare is bolted to the tube. I was thinking of our last TT where the spare was mounted on the back wall.
On this one, Apex 214rb , the tube is welded to the ends of the I beams so I am thinking the weight is ok as long as Lynnmor suggested it is properly attached so it will not create a disaster. I would probably use some sort of straps and not rely on bungie cords which can break or come undone.
