Had same problem on first RV/TT. Just bought memory foam and folded it back when not in use. Held it in folded position with light weight cord attached to cabinets on either side. Did not look as neat as the original but it worked.
BTW still have that old foam one stored under a bed in s&b. Anybody want it - free!
