When the blizzard of 78 hit Michigan, it was the late night hours of Wednesday January 25th, with the snowfall ending by mid morning Thursday Jan 26th...my moms birthday!! I was one of the very very few on campus at MSU (a student)with a 4X4 truck. I could not get out of Lansing until Friday, and then only made it as far as Grand Ledge. I finally got home to help at the farm on Saturday. That storm was a real mess.
