When I leave for the next destination I have a rough idea of how long it will take to get there or how long I am willing to drive that day. My life is not going to be seriously impacted if I pull into the next campground at 3:30 or 4:30. One of the best things about being retired is that all the days are the same. I don't have to be anywhere at any certain time. If I make it today, great, if it takes me 3 more days that is great too. One of the great lessons I have learned in my life is to reserve the worrying and fretting for things I can actually do something about. I can't make you a better, more considerate driver, but I can make myself "look for the pony" and take the opportunity to enjoy the slower pace of the drive.
