Breaker Bar
Nowhere did I even suggest putting a piece of pipe over the handle of my 150 ft-lb torque wrench. I know that is idiotic.
Does nobody know there really is such a thing as a breaker bar that's not a piece of pipe?

It sure sounded like you were implying a pipe on the hnadle of the 150# wrench. But if that's the case, you can only guess at what torque you will apply. Your best bet if you don't want to bother with the right tool is as someone else said,
- weigh a friend
- back calcualte the distance away he has to stand to reach 300#
- have him stand on it
- be careful to slowly place his weight on the handle without any bouncing or it will over torque the nut
But don't expect accuracy. It may be good enough but I would be suprised if you are within 50#
Another option, you might check with one of the autoparts stores, they somethings have specialty tools they loan out. Not sure if they would have a 300# torque wrench though.
