I really don't care what others think of how I live. For one thing I share very little of my life, plans, or history with anyone. They cannot criticize what they don't know.
Why do you feel the need to share your plans? By sharing your plans it appears you are looking for approval but then disappointed because others don't share your enthusiasm.
Maybe there is more to it, maybe these unsupportive people don't care about your camping but feel you are neglecting other things. If all your business is taken care of, all your bills are paid, your children are clothed, fed, and educated, tell the naysayers to pound sand.
Live how you want to live, keep your plans to yourself, and associate with like minded people. Maybe you should join a camping club where your enthusiasm will be shared. I belong to a local Good Sam chapter, we camp every month with the group and make many trips on our own also.
