I can't say that we've had people be "not supportive", but we definitely have had weird comments. In fact, since I work from home full time- I often get the joke, "where are you now?" (even in person :)).
I do *not* think it's jealousy. It's more a curiosity of the unknown.
I've had people tell me that they are slaves to predictability and can't understand how I could stay in the camper for length of time. (Really, it's just an apartment on wheels.)
I've had people tell me that they like the idea of having 1 spot. (Really, I like to roam.)
I had an uncle tell me I was crazy for wanting this and that he'd prefer a cabin on the lake. (Really, I can take my "cabin" to the lake or the ocean or the mountains or near the city.)
It's all preferences. I know many years ago, I didn't understand my wife's aunt/uncle's family - they camped every weekend. I thought it would get boring and was weird. I wasn't jealous- I just didn't understand.
Now we spend 50+ nights per year in our camper.
