I don't think it necessary that friends be supportive of my doing things they choose not to do. I travel all over the world, know people who refuse to leave their own country, some who seldom go out of town. I don't need reinforcement from them.
I also don't think, when they "roll their eyes" at you, that they are jealous. They are probably expressing boredom, hearing too much from you about something that does not interest them. If they are interested, they will ask questions, discuss your travel. If not interested, they are just not interested.
People talk about what interests them, so we get to listen to fishing stories, stroke be stroke replays of yesterday's round of golf, hand by hand playout of each game of bridge. That I'm not interested doesn't mean I am jealous, and if they need my interest for validation, I'm sorry, not going to get it.
