In the past, some of our non-camping friends have questioned why we "waste" our money and time on camping. After all, we could spend that money on a nice week long vacation to Hawaii or even Europe. Yeah, right! "But what about the other 50 weekends of the year?" I ask them. Well...we could go to a nice resort in the mountains for a weekend occasionally they say. Tried that last year. $1,600 for a 72 hour stay at an upscale resort in the Sierra Nevada. It was very nice to be pampered, but I won't do that again.
