I am towing FW in my signature, with a similar truck, mine is a 4X4. Your truck should handle a FW with a GVWR of 12,000. I am pulling closer to 10,000 actual wt. My 6.2 pulls mine easily, and has payload to spare.
All 3/4 tons are not created equal. Some have way less payload, not much more than a HD 1/2 ton. At 3256, your payload is good, and the 6.2 is a good puller, even with the 3.73 gears.
