I download books to the Amazon cloud. I can then download them to one of our four Kindle products. The neat thing is that any product I use will sync to the furthest page read if I wish.
Why four devices? I have an E-Ink and a Kindle Fire. My wife has a PaperWhite and a Kindle Fire. We use one Amazon account so all books in the cloud are available to each of us.
I do the library thing also. I can check them out from the Palisade CO library while here in Bouse AZ for the winter.
