We have had dish at home 15+ years. Why not drop the cable, use dish at home selecting the pkg you like, then you can add the tailgator dish cube for seven bucks a month which can be turned off and on as desired. It is added to whatever pkg you have at home. No concerns about legality, etc. We are just finishing a 4k mile trip all over the West and it worked great.
The cube costs $350, the receiver about 100, and it automatically sets it self up and finds the sats for you and the package is whatever you have on your home acct. Nothing new for the wife to learn. The locals can be changed for no charge to the ones for the area you are in at the time. Simple.
