Fresh Tank System ?

I filled the fresh tank today in preparation for camping. It took almost ten minutes of running the pump for the system to pressurize.

We have used FHU all summer and last October was the last use of the internal system, besides winterizing and draining.

Is this normal for prime to take that long?

X-2, I always try to fill the water heater off the city connection, that way you're not using 6 gal. out of your fresh tank to fill it.

If the pump is above the water line, yes.
  • All is fine once it started working. It just seemed to take way to long to catch prime.
I realize that age is no factor in these thing, but I doubt that pump has moved more than 1k gallons in three years.
  • Pump not working correctly? was there sufficent water pressure after it primed?
