Fresh Water Drain Valve Broke

Searched the forums but found that most fresh water drain valves are attached by screws. I cannot seem to find the type that I have on my trailer. Any suggestions on how to remove this one and replace with a newer one? Or am I going to have to replace the whole fresh water tank?

Looking up at the fresh water tank valve:

I'm fairly sure that is a common valve that just screws in.

Worst case it crumbles, and you have to use a thread chaser to clean out the fitting it screws into

Absolute worst case.. There is an expandable rubber plug you can replace it with, Works great for low pressure installs.

The base of the valve looks a lot like a bolt/nut base. Have you tried putting a wrench on it? If so it's probably sealed with some lap sealant that may need to be loosened first.

I will try the wrench, but it crumbled in my hand - hate to see what it's going to do under the pressure of a wrench. Well it has to be replaced anyways. Will GooGone help with the lap sealant? I don't want to scrape or scratch the tank, I fear I might poke a hole in it. :)
