I'm surprised how many folks hesitate about asking for extended warranties on such repairs. Either they will do a quality repair that won't need the warranty, or they won't. Dealer's choice and fair to all parties, IMHO.
I trust the repairs my dealer will make, they're a small dealer here and they've been in business since 1962. You don't last in this business unless you are doing something right. I'm more worried about the overall quality of this particular trailer, and some extra protection for my peace of mind would be a nice "good faith" gift from them.
But you're right, I'm not sure why people are afraid to ask. The worst they can say is, "No, we won't be doing that." It never hurts to ask the question.
I got the distinct feeling, however, that they were more worried about a lawsuit than anything. That's the last thing on my mind. My main concern is getting my trailer fixed and making sure its safe so I feel comfortable using it again, and making sure others with this unit are taken care of as well BEFORE something happens.
We'll see how it goes.
