there is a recall on certain trailers made by Monaco concerning the fresh water tank now. Copied and pasted it here. Already had mine fixed.
Monaco RV is recalling certain model year 2011 Holiday Rambler Campmaster and R-Vision Trail Cruiser; 2011-2012 R-Vision Onyx; 2011-2013 R-Vision Trail Light; 2012-2014 Holiday Rambler Aluma-Lite, Aluma-Lite Ultra and R-Vision Trail Sport and Trail-Lite Crossover; and 2013-2014 McKenzie Rainier Ascent and R-Vision Trail Lite Trek recreational vehicles.
These vehicles were manufactured from October 12, 2009 through March 15, 2013 and have their water tanks mounted under the floor within enclosed underbellies. The water tank mounting system in these affected RVs may fail.
If the mounting system fails, the water tank may separate from the vehicle and become a road hazard, increasing the risk of a crash.
Monaco RV will notify the owners of all recalled vehicles, and dealers will install a cross brace between the water tank and the mounting brackets free of charge.
This sounds exactly like what happened to my tank. Luckily it didn't occur while bombing down the highway.
My dealer said the tank was improperly installed, but who knows...it could be a design defect as well.
This is very dangerous issue, (IMO). It seems unlikely that the tank was improperly installed, and more like a design flaw. BTW: I turn my propane off whenever I can while camping. I'd rather use space heaters/electricity. I don't use the stove/oven in the TT, and cook outside or use electric appliances.
