No matter how many times this comes up on here, I've still never read a convincing reason to turn off the fridge. Heck, I usually leave my vehicles running when fueling. People sit there and smoke cigarettes all the time while doing it. I'm also one of those bad guys that fills up gas cans without taking them out of the bed of my truck...the horror. And if the gas station isn't busy and I need to use the restroom, I'll go in there and turn on the water pump too.
There is appropriate consideration for safety just like there is unnecessary concern over the least likely of scenarios. But I guess the safest thing to do would be to turn it off...and the safest way to avoid tire damage from a blowout is to leave your camper at home and don't drive it down the road.
