Fridge roof vent has hole in it

I just noticed today that there is a good sized hole on the top of my refrigerator roof vent. I don't know how long it has been like that and obviously I need to replace it soon.
Question is what happens when moisture gets down in there? We've had some pretty good rainstorms lately, is there anything else I should check after I replace it?

What happens if moisture gets down in there? Steam of course. it vaporises.

You may try to patch the hole if it is not too big.. GOOP may work, or slap an Eternabond patch on it.. I do not believe the cover gets overly hot. Have used GOOP to piece mine back together.
  • Just like roof vent hatches and skylights, the sun eventually gets them. Like recommended, I bought a universal cover for an older trailer I own.
