You really need to have done all of this already long before you actually need the trailer. It is a great resource to have around your house when the emergency hits...
We use our trailer setup all the time to support our house when needed...
One hurricane that came up the coast knocked out power a couple years back for over a week here... We watched HDTV every night - ran fans inside the house.. kept the house fridge going a couple hours a day using the generator... ran all of the laptops and other devices keeping them recharged up...
All of this ran off the batteries, inverters, and the 2kw generator for a few hours each day.
If you run out there right now and try to make all of this work it will most likely fail on you... You need to test all of this out before the emergency hits you...
We changed out all of the interior automotive lights to lEDs, beefed up the battery bank and battery cables, made a list of what all we wanted to use inside the trailer and added more batteries to battery bank to run those items from direct connected to the batteries or run from optional inverter.
Once you got the plan B going then you can operate all of these things until your batteries drop tp their 50% charge state. Then you connect up the generator to the trailer 30A shore power cable and let the on-board smart mode converter/charger recharge your batteries back up to their 90% charge state. This will take around three hours of generator run time. Then you are good to go for the next day/night run...
When we was without house power for the week we did just fine every day/night keeping all we wanted to run up and running. Had block parties in our patio and had cookouts everyday... People came and went all the time... Me and another neighbor pulled a little red wagon around the neighborhood with a couple of 2K generators and ran folks fridges for a couple of hours each to keep their meat frozen...
We eventually ran out of gasoline in storage and had to go a mission of finding a gasoline station that was being run off a generator to refill our jerry cans... Had to go the next county to find a gas station that working...
It was great for us and our neighbors but never would have happened unless I had it all planned out to a big degree...
I spent many of nights here in the driveway figuring out how long things would run on my battery setup and then added more to get where we wanted to be...
It turned out we do very well with just 255AHs of battery capacity and using the plan of running our 2KW generator every morning for around three hours time to re-charge them back up to their 90% charge state each day.
Of course if you just want the very basics then flashlights and candles work just fine and a bag full of D-CELLS...
Hope you guys the best until this storm passes... We too may get a short shot of this coming up the coast... I will run at least three long extension cords into the house from the trailer to run our home entertainment, a couple of fans, and plug in the fridge a couple hours each day... Then we cook out using the trailer setup on propane. If the emergency happens during the winter the same thing will work as we have a fireplace. We just move into the front rooms closer to the fireplace... One winter I setup my grill in front of the fireplace and let all the smoke fumes etc go up the fireplace. That worked great too...
When I get solar panels added to my OFF-ROAD POPUP it will set close to the house and be available for alot of things you might need in emergencies
A great resource to have around for sure...
