The measurements you need are the front of the truck with no trailer, front with trailer on and no Wd then front with trailer and WD hooked up. The WD should take at least half of the front end raise in height out. The back end goes where it goes.
The reason for doing this is to get the steering geometry back to normal design range and to have sufficient weight on the front axle.
One other thing to remember is that the trailer should be level or slightly nose down, not ever nose up.
