First I'll point out that cards that give cents off are about worthless compared to % reward
4 cents off equals 4 cents per gallon
4% reward equals 12 cents at $3 per gallon
Often times I combine cents off loyalty cards together with the rewards credit card for extra savings.
PNC Everyday Rewards Visa
4% on gasoline (up to $250 in eligible monthly net purchases)
3% on cinema and movie rentals (up to $150 in eligible monthly net purchases)
2% on groceries, restaurants and fast food (up to $750 in eligible monthly net purchases)
up to 1% on almost everything else (1/4% on first $10,000 in eligible net purchases each year, 1% thereafter with no limits
CITI Double Cash Card
1% on every purchase
1% again when bill is paid for a total of 2% reward on every purchase
With both of those cards in my wallet I get $100 or more reward every 3 months.
